Telehealth appointments take place over an encrypted platform. Telehealth is just like an in-person session with a therapist, only over video conferencing. There are many benefits to having sessions using telehealth.
It can be easier and more efficient for you to access mental health care
There may be more flexibility to schedule a time convenient for you.
You can talk to a therapist without physically coming to an office.
What You Will Need:
A computer or tablet with a microphone and a camera
-Internet speed of at least 1 megabit per second (mbps)
-A private space (preferably a room with a door) without pets, family members or other distractions
-A secure internet connection (public Wi-Fi is not recommended due to lack of privacy)
-Proper lighting in front of your face preferred
-Use Chrome as your browser (it tends to work best with the encrypted platform used)
Therapeutic Email Exchanges
Therapeutic email exchanges consist of you sending me detailed information about your situation. It provides you with the opportunity to take time with your words and concerns that in-office and chat sessions do not always allow. Additionally, because email is not in real time it can provide meaningful time to reflect on responses between exchanges. I will return an email with feedback, suggestions, and recommendations generally within 2 business days.
Couples therapy may also occur utilizing email exchanges. What will occur in this instance is each partner will send me an e-mail. I will then respond in an email addressing both partners and all concerns presented by both partners.
If one email gives you the information you need to resolve the presenting problem, great! If you feel that you want more exchanges or would prefer to switch to chat or in-office sessions we can do that as well.
